The Creative Director

About

Neka Art Studio (est. 2006), We are the Brand Identity and Strategic Brand side of the company that focus on for-profit companies, emerging entrepreneurs, cultural initiators, cultural producers and influencers.

I AM The Creative Director

    Bio:

I AMsomething like a hybrid chic.

Cultural initiator, cultural producer and emerging influencer who views the world as a continuum; so I seamlessly combine past, present and future “imagined” ideas when analyzing cultural production. Experienced in both--the supply side and demand side--of cultural arts production and cultural arts management my pluralistic perspective leaves little room for bias.

Simply put: I analyze contemporary cultural trends and anticipate future cultural trends—unbiased.

Were you ever told a story and wondered about the other person’s side of the story? Well, I seek out the other side and uproot the whole story. Before I uproot your amazing story and build a brand or project around it here’s one of mine:

My kindergarten teacher pinned a note to my back, right before my mother walked into the classroom to pick me up. At t-1 second, my best friend had little time to unpin me so we could decipher what was sure to look like a foreign language—cursive handwriting—this was before Google translate. So, I stood puppied eyed, waiting for my mom to read the letter aloud: she had an affinity for reading pinned notes aloud; so, I could tell by her tone if I was going home to ice cream or a lecture and early bedtime. It read: “Tanekeya is an inquisitive girl who has a love for talking—maybe she will teach.” I did not get the ice cream nor did I become a teacher. Instead, I combined my love for communicating with a talent for writing and research with innate creativity and experienced management. My ‘love for talking’ has matured into a love for cultivating relationships, listening to the needs of others and producing solutions. Unlike my amazing kindergarten teacher I will not pin labels on you. I will look at your personality, your project or your company and strategically produce a brand or creative concept around your vision and talents.

Will I talk; yes, some things don’t change and talking has now become a commodity—most people text or e-mail and I believe in special treatment!
